The Latest News and Update at Welcoming Olim
It's been a while since I posted on this blog. No we have not disappeared, we have been busy, very busy. With the new year, it's a perfect time to introduce or reinforce some progress and development taking place. Before we share some updates, did you notice that the title mentions updates at Welcoming Olim and yet many of the updates are not on this blog? Well that is because the blog Welcoming Olim is a service offered by Chessed Ve'Emet.
If you knew that already, then do continue, if you are new to our blog, then welcome. The rest of this post will help you to gain some insight into who we are.
Firstly, do you know about our new website. Creations From Jerusalem is all about our artistic and creative products. We have tried a number of platforms along our journey and finally have our own website to showcase, promote and sell our products. We love to be creative in a number of mediums. So we invite you to visit this website, sign up for our newsletter and you can get to know about our latest products, specials and developments.
Next, we have progressed with the information we offer to Welcome Olim. We recognise that many who visit our blog are not yet Olim or have been here so long that they no longer regard themselves as Olim. We also have many ideas to develop and share. We are excited to introduce our Aliyah website. What is our website? Well, it's Everything Aliyah. Yes, it is all about Aliyah. Everything there is about Aliyah.
Do you have any questions related to Aliyah? Do you have any inspiring stories to share? We'd love to hear from you. We are working up towards offering podcasts and we would love to answer your questions, feature your stories or interview you. So, please do be in touch. Send in your questions, share your stories, your hopes and your fears. Most importantly, sign up for our newsletter to keep up to date with our latest developments.
Lastly, if you are familiar with our main websites, you will notice an important change happening there too. We have introduced a membership feature. This will enable us to continue providing quality articles, information and content in various formats. For you see, it takes time to prepare the articles, to search our suitable videos, links and so forth. By becoming a member of our websites you will have access to certain key articles. You will also assist us to concentrate on doing what we do best, which is to share valuable, quality articles and products. So we invite you to become a part of what we are doing and to sign up to become a member.
We hope you will enjoy and appreciate the changes, improvements and developments that are taking place at Chessed Ve'Emet and the various websites and blogs that we manage.
We look forward to hearing from you and to having your join our newsletter and websites
Have a wonderful 5778!

"Yibaneh Yerushalayim" - Our Second Edition
It's out, It's official, the second edition of our magazine "Yibaneh Yerushalayim" - May Jerusalem be Built (or re-built).
YIPPEE!! We did it, we reached Edition 2 and distribution has begun.
What
does building Yerushalayim mean to you? Let us know, we'd love to hear
your thoughts and possibly include them in our next or a future edition.
In the meantime, we are happy to let you see what this is all about.
The first two images show the cover, both close up of title and full image, of our second edition. The cover photography and design is by Reb Eliyahu Shear and copyrighted to him, as was the most of the first cover.

The last two images show both editions of our magazine. Yes, the number of pages is still less than we want. Our target is 64 pages. Actually, one of our readers said she thought the number of pages is perfect as one can read every page, article and advert with ease and enjoy.
Others want more pages. What do YOU want?
Do you have a service or product related to Kosher Jewish weddings and or setting up your new home in Eretz Yisrael?
You do?!!
Great, do be in touch for rates of adspace and other info, as we'd love to add your advert too.
If you are good at sales, we need good sales people to help to sell the adspace. At present, commission based only, but LOTS of scope for progress.

How do you respond to someone or something NEW?
What are your thoughts of starting something new? What are your thoughts of someone who is new to the photography world. What are your thoughts of someone new to taking care of children or new to teaching a group of moms any skill related to being a mom. Or what is your idea of someone new to planting a tree, new to building a house. What skills will you support. Will you give someone a chance when they are new to a job, idea, book, publicaiton ...?
It's an interesting role being an Oleh Chadash or Olah Chadashah. Since you are a new immigrant, anything you do in Israel will be new. So how will you respond if someone says, "New? No come back when you have experience or multiple copies to show or years of ..."
Do you remember that once upon a time you were a little baby? How would you feel if the nurses, doctors, midwives etc said "New? Take it away, we will clean it, measure it, weigh it, take care of it when it is a year old and used to this world."
How about your first trip to the doctor or the Tipat Chalav. Does not matter if you are the new mom or the new baby. What would happen if the staff said "NEW? Bah, come back at your second or fourth or maybe your tenth visit."
How about yoru first day at kindergarten, pre-school, Chader or Gan. How would you respond as the new parent of this new child / toddller to the facility. How would you feel if the teacher or rebbe looked at the new parent and new young child and said "NEW? Bah, go away and come back when you are used to education."
How about the first day you: write a test, climb a tree, sing a song, write a poem, eat a sandwich, make a sandwich, go shopping or any other task. There is always a first time for everything.
What kind of person are you? Are you prepared to give the newbie a chance. After all, the tables can turn at any moment. Now you are a successful businessman being asked to advertise your company, what if tomorrow you end up in the hospital (G-d forbid) and the therapist selling you the adspace is the very one who is the first to greet you in your new role as patient. How will you feel if the therapist now says "NEW? Sorry, we don't treat new patients, why don't you wait till you have been a patient for 6 months or more and then, we will begin your rehabilitation process."
If a Jew comes knocking on your door and you have the ability to assist, don't wait. It does not matter if it is a new baby, new toddler, new child at school, new Bar Mitzvah boy, new Chatan or Kallah or new immigrant. Everyone is new sometime. So give your fellow Jew a chance and together let us build Eretz Yisrael.
