About Us

The authors of this blog, Eliyahu and Shoshanah Shear made Aliyah in 2006, arriving with next to nothing. Their hope was to be able to integrate into Israeli society and to be able to learn how life works in Israel. Since they were not from America or Canada and received very little external support from any organisation, they had to find their own way to integrate and become successful. They decided to write a blog, to share with others who have considered making the move, their own experiences, practical tips, words of inspiration and more. All this to help other Jews to be successful here too. With a strong belief that it is not enough to survive here, they turn their attention to what is needed for Jews to feel welcome and to be able to succeed in the land that is our home.

This blog is a project of Chessed Ve'Emet. This is the organisation Rabbi Eliyahu and Shoshanah are developing. It focuses on Torah outreach and acts of lovingkindness.

    1. Hi George

We did not make Aliyah from America so I can not answer anything related to America. All I can say is if I were to make Aliyah again, I would bring only those personal, sentimental items. One really can get everything in Israel. For me the shipping cost was not worth it.

      Hatzlachah with your move

      Shoshanah
